Hello. So i have a 2002 Jeep Liberty and was given a battery from a 2005 Jeep Liberty. They said it had been sitting there for a few years but it was practically new and it looks brand new. I can’t seem to get it charged up though… what’s the best way to see if it will even charge or best way to charge it?

Do you live in cold climate. If it were frozen it's definitely bad and even dead for so long can ruin cells. I'd replace it especially since it will not charge it definitely had bad cell(s).

Let me say that I did get it jumped off and went around the block but it won’t stay running long enough to get it charged.

Some folks have run from a charged good battery to the dead and back and have been able to bring the dead one back to life. Any Interstate battery dealer and most auto part store make an effort to bring the dead ones back.

a slow 2 amp charge, with one of these jobs works wonders. I agree, if an interstate slash johnny jhon son controls, they are pretty solid.

Since this is a texas job, unlikely it froze.

At work, we each have one in our bay, I like them cuz they are cheap, last a good while, and also, they have a power supply option when I need to do other stuff.

Another thing you can do, is check the acid with a strip.
