Let us know if the problem follows the coil.

dear stirling, I was checking out some DOHC coil packs for you if in case it turns out to be a faulty coil, summit racing has a three pack set for your DOHC. 89$ for 3.

I always like to recommend to swap in packs if not known brand.

At this price, 30$ a pop.

One thing to not over look is the fact that beast uses a opti spark system, so that is not to be overlooked. The crank and cam signals are all in the dizzy.

If the dizzy had some dust or whatever on the optic wheel, could cause a coil to not fire. Just sayin.

So it’s not the coil pack. And I don’t know where the icm is.

It's not called an ICM, that is later terminology. It's called a power transistor. Does the same thing. Here's come info on how it works and a diagram.
You should be sure to identify your vehicle when posting. The V6 DOHC engines came with and without a turbo charger.
Not sure what you have but here's the non turbo diagrams.DSC_0010.JPGDSC_0012.JPGDSC_0013.JPG

If you can do it switch the transistors around and see if the problem moves, If so, you know it's bad.

How would one switch the transistors? Or is there a way to check the ptu with a voltmeter

Use the meter to look for pulsing (AC) voltage at each of the coil primaries; the BLU/RED, BLU/BLK, and BLU/YEL wires. If you find one isn't pulsing at the coil, then probe same wire back at the PTU. Still no joy? Then probe the inputs to the PTU. Lock the meter to a single range that will show 12V. If it is auto-ranging the results will be very confusing.

Okay, I’ll try that and see if it’s not operating correctly. Is there a way these can be rebuilt?
