I have a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am that starts but dies 3 to 5 seconds later will stay running with starting fluid. No security light on no modifications or upgrades to the car. I’m thinking a fuel pump already replaced a fuel filter.

Yeah, check fuel pressure with a gauge. Don't rush to replace the pump, there could be a problem with wring, relay, fuse, etc. that powers the pump.
