Get somebody else to check that the BARO sensor is connected; a "second set of eyes"

It seems like it is inside the PCM. Do you have access o live-data? Live-data can help you avoid a lot of time and parts-swapping; and doesn't have to be expensive. Search for info on "ELM327" devices.

If it is part of the pcm is the only way to fix it is to replace the pcm? Or could something else be throwing the code

I think it is "something else", but that is just a guess. There may not even be a physical BARO sensor, the PCM may simply be reading MAP at key-on, before the engine cranks. "Inside the PCM" may mean the PCM software program.

Again, live-data is going to be a valuable tool here.

With the one you bought you may only read codes. Does it do live data? All readers/scanners are ELM chips.

Check MAP and BARO at key-on, before starting engine. They should be the same value (hence no critical need for a separate BARO sensor), and they should both read correctly for the altitude of your location. Once the engine is started the MAP should change, but the BARO should not change.
