How do you know about the Bronco, did I have a thread going about it at one time, or have you been looking at satellite view of my lot? It has been sitting here for many years now, but isn't mine. I get lots of inquiries about selling it, but can't get the owner/friend to part with it.

The burned Bolt is now up to $3700, it will go for higher than I would pay.

You both posted stuff that won't help the OP or our batauto reputation; but neither was so offensive that it should bother anybody (including OP) terribly. Just post the next schematic we need and let's move on...

1 kilowatt equal 3412 BTU's, one gallon of gas at 120,000 BTU's would be equal to about 35 kilowatts . In terms of cost if you are paying 15 cents per kilowatt hour, That would cost the equivalent of $5.25 for a gallon of gas as opposed to say $1.50 for a gallon gas. Most states are charging 50 cents gallon for gas tax, so only far to subtract that from from a two buck a gallon of gas of what Wisconsin is charging for a gallon of gas.

Then a question of efficiency, generally 10% is lost when charging a battery another 10% is lost when discharging it., typical electric motor efficiencies run about 70% so roughly about 50% of the energy is lost in the form of heat. So that $5.25 is actually $10.50 for equivalency. Gas vehicle driven intelligently rare, but could be as high as 20% for an equivalency of $7.50 for a gas power vehicle as opposed to $10.50 for an electric powered vehicle.

Electric vehicles would even cost a lot more if states can figure out how to charge electric vehicles with road tax, they will, and the electric vehicle owner will be screwed.

Solar power only works when the sun is above about 23% of the horizon on a clouldless free day. Wind generator towers are falling down just as fast as they are putting them up.

Removing all the BS about energy saving electric vehicles to be more green is costing a lot of green. And that huge lithium ion battery can cause at least the same damage if not more than a tankful of gas.

OK NickD, I get it. You don't like the EV concept. This thread was not meant to be a debate about whether I should be interested in EVs, you are just cluttering my thread; please refrain from further comments like the above that are useless to me.

That "burned Bolt" is now up to $5400, with 4 more hours to go. I have pretty much given up on finding a Bolt for a price I can justify.

207 views on this tread, no insults, no dirty words, not off topic, just pure facts on this subject, certainly read a lot of lies on this subject.

We also disagree on ethanol using 150,000 BTU's of fuel oil to make 76,000 BTU's of ethanol per gallon, more BS from the politicians. And sure isn't saving the planet but drastically increased the cost of our food. Just some more facts.

Ha, only 0.04% of CO2 in the atmosphere only resonate to a very small wavelength of the sun and only when the sun is on a narrow band of the earth surface is causing global warming. But now call climate change by another crook, more facts.

The only reason why the ozone layer is depleting in the antarctic is lack of sunshine seven months out of the year, but crooked politicians blamed R12 for that that drastically increased the cost of AC repair in our vehicle. R-134a on has 1/100th the so-called ozone depletion of R12, increase the home AC by a factor of five.

More lies.

yeah, that is stating to get high. For a parts bin, this is going strong, but that is an indicator of something. Probably why bid just keeps going up.

I am not an expert on this, but I am way not surprised it is still going up, cuz the shell is just a cell. There are multiple uses to this bolt. And the more we go, the more we will see aftermarket stuff come along.

Embracing change is not always easy. It is for sure doable, but not easy.

In the last week or two, many 2017 used Bolts have come on the market, places like CL and the auctions like Copart. I think these are the first of the Bolt production coming off-lease. The price is in the $14-16K range for these undamaged and clean-title vehicles; so I am hoping the atrocious prices for the wrecked ones will start coming down to a level I can bite on in the near future.

In regards to your last post, I assure you, here in canada, bolts are commercial heaven, and tesla also.

The trend is starting, you should see those prices go down, but will you Billr, see that to fruition is another question. I certainly hope so.

I hope you all have a good few weeks of peace and in step logic, we are going to need it for what is to come. Have a special place in your heart , social distance, bake them something and leave it on doorstep, shovel the snow if you see they are not fit to do so. Be a good neighbor, and stop useless wars with things a true leader should concede.
