One day this van just wouldn't start it is a daily driver. I suspected fuel pump, but checked at the check valve and it had good pressure. then pulled a spark plug and found no fire. I pulled another one just to verify and still no spark. I took the coil off and the parts store checked it and said it should be good. I feel like I have a wiring issue, but don't have a wiring schematic to know what to check. I'd like to rule out the cam position sensor, but I also want to check the wiring to it. If anyone has a diagram, that would be wonderful. Thanks!

So this van did give me fits, but we finally have it fixed. Unfortunately, I did fall for throwing parts at it and most were likely ok. We changed the crank and cam position sensors, the coil, the front three spark plugs (the easy ones)and the fuel filter before we finally replaced the PCM. Once the new PCM went in, it fired right up.

The worst part by far was the crank sensor. Since this thing is so old, of course I broke the sensor off almost immediately trying to remove it. I then fought it for several days before weaseling a dremel tool in there and grinding it out until I could grab the remainder of it with some needle nose pliers. I seriously thought we might be junking it there for awhile. Any work I did with the Dremel tool there was completely done blind and then I had to reach in with a light and a mirror to re-evaluate. That was a last resort as I had repeatedly tried to jb weld a bolt or screw into it and pull it out which never worked.

Thanks for the repair manual link that was posted and for the link to the video. It is a useful video with lots of good diagnostic info. Thanks again

Eric
