I have a 2017 2.4L Tacoma SR 4x4 5 speed. The fuel pressure with a Tee connection to the gauge reads 50psi at idle and reving. From google searches I believe this is supposed to be 41psi. Does anyone have the spec to confirm? The Fuel Pressure Regulator with a vacuum pump does bring the pressure down. But when I disconnect the host from the FPR to the intake it doesn’t change on the pressure gauge. I also done feel a vacuum coming out of the hose to the FPR.

Have you disconnected the FPR-manifold hose at the manifold end; is there no vacuum at that port/nipple on the intake manifold?

There’s no vacuum coming out of the tube from the intake. I also hooked up a vacuum gauge to see and it stayed at 0

Stick a small wire or nail through the port and try to clean it out.

I gave that a shot and seems clear but still no vacuum showing on the gauge

Post a picture of that vacuum port on the manifold.

Ya this has been an ongoing issue where the truck bucks on take off with a cold engine. The idle has a slight stumble on a warm engine and you can feel a bit of a stumble on take off in 1st on a warm engine. No check engine light but feels like a misfire. I’ve replaced the spark plugs. It seems unlikely that "manifold vacuum" would be available at that spot in the intake ductwork. I wonder why the vacuum hose connects at that spot. I have seen a similar routing on some other vehicles, and it puzzles me.

Fuel pressure specification is 44 psi - 50 psi.

Where mine is at the higher side of 50 so you think that’s my issue? It’s only when taking off in first and at times a stumbling idle. I thought it was an issue with the clutch until I noticed the idle. On a cold engine it’s an aggressive bucking in 1st. On a warm engine it’s a slight stumble in 1st at the release point.

It sounds like the FPR is not getting a vacuum signal to respond to. 50 would be OK when the engine is under full load (MAP ~ 100kPa), but pressure should be lower at idle.

If the FPR does not go higher under full throttle either the vacuum is missing or the regulator is bad. Put a vacuum on the FPR and see what happens to the pressure.

When I put vacuum on the FPR the pressure drops to to as low as 42psi. No hose connected it stays at 50psi as it is when the hose is connected

Hasn't it already been confirmed that there is no manifold vacuum at that port on the intake duct? You need to remove/open that duct and see how that port connects to the intake manifold; something seems to be broken inside there.
