2005 Chevy Avalanche LT 5.3l AT 2WD - suspension is all stock.

Stock 18" wheels with normal size highway tires. I've checked the plastic wheel well liner to see if it had slipped out of place. Reinstalled it tight and secure, still rubs. Checked the wheel bearings and the ball joints and all seems good.
It is just the passenger side front tire that rubs and does it only when I turn sharp, pulling in & out of a parking space or driveway. Driving forward you can hear it rub mildly, but in reverse the treads of the tire are catching the edge of the plastic and making it pop upwards and then the next tread hits it and so on.

This just started happening a couple of weeks ago. Everything on the truck is the same as it has been for years, meaning I have done no repairs that could make this happen. I have not hit any potholes or anything that could jar the suspension. Never wrecked, I bought it new. The plastic liner doesn't look warped or misshaped. Once I am driving, I don't notice anything wrong.

I don't know what to check next.

Advice please
