Here's a problem...people would just give you their old computer, but "wiping the hard drive" requires effort and they don't want to do it, pay for it, or trust a stranger, so... the outdated or broken computer must be stored away for eternity.

    A challenge for NickD...

When I open a sealed bearing, I begin by treating seal to liberal amount of silicone spray...this cleans, lubes, and softens "rubber" for the next step. Next, I push the entire seal off center, which kind of buckles the rubber at "the far side" and a tiny gap may begin to show at "the near...

Truck cranks but won't start and no bus on odometer

Kev2 said... no buss often indicates a sensor is pulling down the system. unplugging sensors 1x 1 may have 'no buss' message go out and we can proceed. 1St is SRS airbag light on? Unplug TPS, Map, CKP, CMP one at a time

Check Tire Pressure message wont go away

Most tire monitering systems use transmitters in each rim. These eventually fail due to age, impact during tire change, or internal battery ran out of power. Got air in the spare?

P0128 is a relatively common OBDII trouble code. It is triggered when your Ford Fusion‘s coolant temperature fails to reach the proper operating temperature. It’s a generic powertrain code, which means that regardless of who manufactured the vehicle, it’ll have the same meaning (1996+)...

2014 Acura. 3.5. Timing belt replacement miles.

Looks like the "drunk/stoned" guy installed that pad in the Rotor Resurfacing Position. Every pro knows you only do that for a used rotor, and that looks like a new rotor in the photo. I am joking.

    heavy condensation in headlight pod

Let's not confuse the difference between a vent and a drain. A vent can handle a little moist air, but if liquid gets in there, the vent is insufficient. Adding a drain lets the liquid out, and the headlamp can dry out during the heat of normal operation. Your vent may be hidden from sight...

    heavy condensation in headlight pod

When I drill a lamp, I try to find the spot (or spots) at the "lowest point" when the vehicle is level. Where does the puddle inside form? Is the vehicle parked "nose up" on a steep driveway? I like to drill in a spot underneath and behind the lens so that water does not enter the hole while...

2014 Hyundai Elantra GT 5 speed grinds going into reverse/first

Grinding happens when the transmission input shaft is still spinning when the gearshift lever is moved from neutral and "into a gear". So, apparently the shaft fails to stop spinning when the clutch is depressed. Try holding clutch pedal to floor for several seconds before moving the shifter...

can't figure out how to turn cruise on in my 2003 Impala

Might what to consider cut/splice some of the wires. It would be sweet if you could simply locate "cruise switch wires" and install your own switch. Make sure you use the right type of switch (two position, or momentary). I will try to find a schematic.

2000 Ford Ranger XLT 3.0L 2wd radio powering up problem

Typically you have three important wires. Main power wire is hot with key on or at accessory position. Memory power has power at all times. And a ground wire is the third wire you need.
