Please fill out the following to ask a question.

    MAKE:Hyundia
    MODEL:Accent
    YEAR:2002
    MILES:200000
    ENGINE:1.6
DESCRIBE ISSUE.... When the car goes into second gear it starts an odd kind of slow building rev. Kind of hard to explain. Doesn't seem to be coming from the engine itself though. Anyone else happen to have had this happen to them before? Speed sensor perhaps?

Manual transmission? Other gears perfectly fine? Does "odd kind of slow building rev" stop building if you reduce throttle amount a little? What happens if you are going downhill in second gear? Or up a steep hill?

Ok. I have to fix the stabilizer link before I can drive it again. It was broken. My sis had it until she finally got her car so I noticed this on my way home the other day. A tad bit annoying to say the least. I will scan it pretty soon though and see what codes pop up.

And yes, rev does reduce once you stop throttle and slow down.
