Please fill out the following to ask a question.

    MAKE: Ford
    MODEL: Escape
    YEAR: 2014
    MILES: 38,000
    ENGINE: 1.6 eco-boost
DESCRIBE ISSUE.... Excuse the language, but confused as h***.
What should the oil level be on a 1.6 eco-boost?
Was there a recall on the dipstick?
One person at dealer says 4.3 quarts of oil, after first person tells me 5+ quarts.
When I bought the SUV the oil level is about 1" above full mark ( Last fall).
The dipstick is 18.5" to full mark, I have been told this is a defective dipstick and has a recall.
What should the inches from top shoulder of dipstick be when oil is full ?
It's about time to change oil and I am lost.
    Thanks!

Do you want to know capacity with, or without filter? Both ways, I expect...

PS: even 4.3 qts seems excessive with filter for such a small engine. I would be very skeptical of "5+"

I see 4.3l also. No recals at all for the dip stick. I do see 4 recalls for potential fires in engine compartment though!

That explains a lot, like why the "new dipstick" has the same markings in inches as the OEM one, just more idiot proof.
Also tells me time for that oil change
Thanks Kev2 and everyone else that replied
