2008 Saturn Vue XE low oil pressure warning

Wow, Summer, ,that it the same problem we have. The oil pressure light comes on at other times as well, but one thing that will surely set it off is using the windshield washer. To answer your question, no--never did come up with a fix for this. However, my daughter (primary driver) did figure...

Saturn Vue '08 3.5 Oil Leak

Annnnnnnd, I think I figured it out. Loosened the AC Compressor and removed the plate/housing that the oil filter screws onto. Looks like that gasket was bad. Bought a new one (luckily the local Advance Auto had the FelPro) and installed it. Hopefully that will fix my leak. I'll post a note...

    O2 Sensor CEL

Oh wow. Stoichiometric? I've never seen that word before. I think somebody made that up. I'll try running through that list when I get some open space in my schedule. Thanks for the info! I'll be back when I figure it out some more. As of now, CEL has been off for 300 miles since it last lit.

    Lexus ES330 Valve Cover Studs

Update! Job successfully completed. In the picture I attached to my initial post, the studs up front are not removed, but the two in the rear are, only because they hold a wiring harness in place. They do not hold the valve cover in place. Attached are 4 more pictures: the cam shaft, the inside...

    Lexus ES330 Valve Cover Studs

Thanks, Dan. I could not tell if those studs are attached to the valve cover or passed through it like the other bolts. I'm going to guess that the ones in the rear are like the ones in the front, so I'll work with the "regular" bolts. Should be a pretty easy job.

    General Question about Oil Changes

Hello all, The mowing season where I live starts about late March/early April and ends by November 1. I typically change the oil in my mower (it's a Toro zero turn with a Toro-branded engine--has an oil filter) once a year. This is residential mowing only. No commercial use. I probably mow about...

2004 Honda Odyssey NOT designed for water sports

Fascinating stuff. The water-to-steam thing makes sense. The bad news is that this was swamp water, not really clean, although it did pass through the air filter so no big chunks of anything. But it seems like it cleaned itself and the car still runs great. The attached pics are the road my...

2004 Honda Odyssey NOT designed for water sports

And then . . . a miracle. Thanks for all of the ideas on this. I gave up for a bit trying to remove the thing and just drove it for a day. It drove fine. Then, I noticed that the idle was back to normal. No problems. No funny revving. So I cleared the code. Car still runs great. Idle is just as...

2004 Honda Odyssey NOT designed for water sports

Thanks, billr. I tried to remove the IAC valve. It is held on by 2 Torx screws. My T-25 is too big and the T-20 seems too loose. May have to Dremel a groove to use a flat head. Or am I missing something? Is there a T-22, or some other size I don't have?

2004 Honda Odyssey NOT designed for water sports

Update! Thanks to all for the guidance. I pulled the plugs and removed the fuse for the fuel pump. My daughter bumped the starter while I watched. Each cylinder put out a little water. Hard to tell how much, but maybe an ounce-ish. Seemed like some but not too much. I then let it sit overnight...

2004 Honda Odyssey NOT designed for water sports

Thanks to all for the guidance. I'll get on the job in the morning. Assuming, that is, that I can get to the auto parts store. There is still 2 feet of water between me and the store, so it may take another day. I would love to have the car bake in the sun, but we haven't seen sun in 3 days...

2008 Saturn Vue XE low oil pressure warning

Hello Gents, Me again. Still wrestling with this dinging car. I have checked it every way I know how, which is apparently not enough ways. Today I had the brilliant idea of finding the chime and disconnecting it. Turns out the chime is the radio--so not a good idea (my daughter's car). Here is...

2008 Saturn Vue XE low oil pressure warning

Thanks to all for the help. The problem is still a problem. I finally got the time to put the pressure gauge back on to do the test Mobile Dan suggested. Same initial results as last time: pressure about 35psi from start up and to 1850 rpms. After letting it warm up (coolant temp was at 190), I...

Gents, Thanks for all the great info. I finally got the time to go looking for the blend door actuator. Based on the pictures from alldata, it looked easy to get to. NOT! I pulled the knee bolster and could see the actuator, barely. There is a lot of other stuff between me and it. Any tricks to...
