2000 ford windstar oil change lite reset

tried a couple of methods i googled but no go. how do you reset it?

If there are no info and reset buttons you have to use the trip button to reset. Push trip until it says hold for system check or reset. Cycle through until oil life is displayed and message says hold to reset if new oil. I wish manufacturers would settle on one reset, it would make life a lot easier.

Change Oil Soon/Oil Change Required Message

Displayed when the engine oil life remaining is 5 % or less. When oil life left is between 5% and 0% the CHANGE OIL SOON message will be displayed. When oil life left reaches 0% the OIL CHANGE REQUIRED message will be displayed.

An oil change is required whenever indicated by the message center. USE ONLY RECOMMENDED ENGINE OILS .

To reset the oil monitoring system to 100% after each oil change [approximately 8000 km (5000 miles) or 180 days ] perform the following:


Press the SETUP control to access the System Check function

Press and release the RESET control to display OIL LIFE XX% HOLD RESET NEW .


Press and hold the RESET control for 2 seconds to display IF NEW OIL HOLD RESET .

Press and hold the RESET control to display OIL LIFE SET TO 100% . Your oil life is now reset.
To reset the oil monitoring system to your personalized oil life:

Press the SETUP control to access the System Check function.



Press and release the RESET control to display OIL LIFE XX% HOLD RESET NEW .

Press and hold the RESET control for 2 seconds to display IF NEW OIL HOLD RESET.


Release the RESET control momentarily, then press RESET and SETUP controls at the same time to activate a service mode which will display OIL LIFE XX% RESET TO ALTER .
Press RESET until you find your personalized OIL LIFE XX% .
With your personalized OIL LIFE XX% displayed, press SETUP to continue the system check.

Should copy and print these instructions out and paste them to your dash board.  Ha, have the owners manual to reset the oil change reminder on my 92 DeVille, if I can find it, not in the index.  Have to hold down one button  on the fuel management panel while pressing another one three times within a second, but never can remember which one to hold and which one to press between oil changes.

Still having problems with my cell phone and a whole bunch of these microcontroller crap do do anything.  Dell Axim 5 is the worse, need 12 fingers for that

seems like most of the vehicles i work on dont have the owners manual in them.dont know what the hell customers do with them.lol.
