Briggs 16HP VTwin OHV...Bent pushrod
« on: June 24, 2007, 03:50:09 PM »
I recently bought a mower with this Briggs engine which was not running. After troubleshooting a few hours we located a bent exhaust valve pushrod. My question is, do I just replace the pushrod or is this just the tip of a bigger problem? I don't know a lot about small engines so any help would be GREATLY appreciated !! Thanks  Allen

don't know if this helps but we did check compression in both cylinders and they seemed fine

ya if you can find another the exact lenth slip it in .. if it bends it right away then bigger intenal problems poss. object in combustion chamber ect.

Thanks much, I replaced it with a new one, adjusted the valves, and so far everything sounds good !! Thanks again  Allen
