hey nickd, long time no write. been away a full yr , that tester they got is used to sell batteries and be used by a 16yr old pimple face kid who came to work on his bmx. its got an interface that resembles a nintendo so the guys at walmarde 'french equivalent of walshit' don't feel to outta whack with the techno crap out there. can't beat my old 'sun' battery loader for reserve testing. nice big knob like my old rotel amplifier for my 15 inch cerwin vegas. can't beat old N/A  stuff. Rolling on the floor

I love those old load testers, I have NEVER had one make me look like a fool. Those other battery testers are a joke. In fact while at training I question our trainer about how they worked and he quickly side stepped the questions because he didn't know.

Hey NickD you would have loved to look inside the jumper packs sears used to sell. I could have designed a better unit myself. The older units would not make the cables hot until it sensed voltage from the battery, now if you battery is flat it will not turn on. That aside I actually looked at the relay that powers the booster cables and thought a radiator fan might be much for it.
Then there is the peak amp rating on these jumper packs. After some searching on the net I found out that peak amps is not an society of automotive engineers approved unit of measurement.
