After reading everything I can, I think it is the 1-2 accumulator.
It is easy to see in the photos, but I can't tell if you can
service it without dropping the valve body. Any help would be appreciated.

the 1-2 accumilator in the 4l60e  is held on with 3 bolts.  comes off easy

Here is a diagram of it...hope this helps...there is a tsb about replacing it...make sure you replace it with the same kind that is in it...you can see in the diagram the 2 different styles....Jim

It is a good idea to replace the plastic piston with aluminum.  Plastic pistons break
