Hi, I have a conventional Freightliner with a 60 series Detroit Diesel. It only gets 3 MPG ! It had new injectors installed in the last 6 months. It has a c
lean air filter, new fuel filters & the tires are all at 100 psi. What could I do or check next. It also blows a bit of coolant out of  the overflow on the surge tank. I was thinking it was the head gasket but was told it could be a liner. There are no signs of coolant in the oil or vice versa. Finally, it has went  thru 7 turbos in the last year ! They just keep replacing them at the dealer but there must be a reason. I notice the pyrometer climb dramatically sometimes. Please lend your technical knowledge - Thank you.

air is not circulating, look more like a exhust restriction(baffle in muffler), could be intake too(rubber hose colapsing).  There is test to be donne to find out if compression is migrating in coolant.

are you sure you do not have a CAT with 60 series stickers??? something is really wrong DDA  60's get 5 > 8 mpg depending on 11L or 12L and horsepower .
